Volkswagen - TFSI Badge
Explaination and usages
What does actually the TFSI badge mean on vehicles by Volkswagen?
Abbreviation of Twincharged Fuel Stratified Injection, this badge is used within Volkswagen Group (VW, Audi, Škoda, Seat) on cars powered by engines based on this technology. These are the petrol engines with a combination of a mechanical compressor, turbo charger and direct fuel injection which achieve better performance, lower consumption and increased torque. Some of the letters of the label may be red indicating a higher engine output. By eliminating the mechanical compressor and turbo charger, the code is changed to FSI, while the same engines with indirect injection are branded as TSI.
