Mazda - SKYACTIV Badge
Explaination and usages
What does actually the SKYACTIV badge mean on vehicles by Mazda?
SKYACTIV Technology is actually a set of technologies that Mazda impements since 2011, applied to their cars with the idea of increasing the engine power while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. SKYACTIV-G petrol engines have direct injection and high compression, while SKYACTIV-D represent the common rail diesel engines with two-stage turbo chargers and reduced compression in order to comply with the norms related to environmental protection. All SKYACTIV cars have extended exhaust manifold and variable opening / closing of valves in order for the engine to reach operating temperature more easily.
