Overview

Two significantly similar cars, no doubt about that. Still, each one has something different to offer. While both cars belong to the Luxury car segment and utilize the 4-door sedan body style, one major difference is the fuel type they use. More specifically, BMW is a petrol car, but Volvo is powered by a hybrid engine. Another thing to take into account here is the wheel drive. Verdict

Volvo appears just a bit more reliable, although the difference is truly marginal. The most important thing when deciding between any two vehicles should always be safety, both passive and active. In my opinion, everything taken into account, the Swedish car offers slightly better overall protection and takes the lead. From there things take a different direction, with BMW offering somewhat better performance, just enough to call it quicker. It does come at a cost though, and that's the fuel consumption... All together, there's not much more to say, in this case I wouldn't even consider anything but Volvo.
