We are here considering two somewhat similar cars, but we can't deny some of the obvious differences. For a start, they are not even classified under the same segment, with the Mercedes Benz being a luxury car and the BYD representing large family car vehicle class. The first one has a Mercedes Benz-engineered powertrain under the hood, a PMSM Electric unit in formation 1 / 1 with 687hp unit, while the other one gets its power and torque from a PMSM Electric unit in formation 1 / 1 with 530hp engine designed by BYD.

The first thing to look into here would be the results from European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) tests performed on the two cars. Good thing is that both vehicles got tested, with the same number of safety stars gained in the process. Moving further on, let's take a closer look at some additional safety-related facts. The first vehicle is a luxury car and that gives it a marginal advantage over the large family car competitor, at least that's what statistics show. Manufacturers have been building their reliability reputation for decades now and, generally speaking, it appears that BYD is significantly less fault-prone, when all the models are taken into account. The most important thing when deciding between any two vehicles should always be safety, both passive and active. In my opinion, everything taken into account, the German car offers much better overall protection, which launches it ahead of the other contender. It all continues in the same direction, with Mercedes Benz offering somewhat better performance, just enough to call it quicker. The Chinese car provides significantly better range, something that shouldn't be overlooked. At the end, as much as I'd like to give you a winner here, it's simply a pure tie if you ask me.
