Two significantly similar cars, no doubt about that. Still, each one has something different to offer. Having both cars powered by electric engines and utilizing the 5-door suv body style within the same 'SUV' segment, the only major difference here really is their wheel drive configuration (4 x 4 for the Smart and front in the case of the Peugeot). The first one has a Geely-engineered powertrain under the hood, a PMSM Electric unit in formation 1 / 1 with 428hp unit, while the other one gets its power and torque from a PMSM Electric unit in formation 1 / 0 with 156hp engine designed by Stellantis.

The fact that the Peugeot got tested by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), while the other contender didn't, offers a slight advantage, as the 4-star rating is better than none. From there things take a different direction, with Smart outracing its opponent in any situation possible, making it better choice for boy racers. The French car offers somewhat better range. It's not difficult to say then that if I'd need to make a choice, it would definitely be the Smart.
