Seat - Cupra Badge
Explaination and usages
Cupra

What does actually the Cupra badge mean on vehicles by Seat?

Short for Cup Racing. This label is traditionally carried by the more powerful sport versions of SEAT cars whose specific components are tailored to follow their high performance. CUPRA cars find themselves above the FR and below CUPRA R vehicles in the model range.

CUPRA badge first appeared back in 1996 as a homage to a rally version of the SEAT Ibiza winning the World Rally Championship within the 2-litre engine category. Since 2003 up until 2008 there also was a Cupra Championship, reserved for the spanish brand sport cars only.
